Habari translations have been going full steam ahead on Launchpad. We currently have translations completed in 5 languages (Danish, German, Japanese, Low German, Traditional Chinese), underway in eight languages (Arabic, Czech, Dutch, French, Hungarian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Turkish) and a volunteer signed up for Italian and Piemontese (and I've never even heard of that). This is all pretty exciting for me, never having seen a translation happen before, but one of the most gratifying things is that I don't know two thirds of those that are actively doing translations. Great to have you involved!
It seems some other members of the project are excited about the translations too. ayunyan, who completed the Japanese translation, popped in to #habari yesterday, prompting a thanks from ringmaster.
ringmaster: And thanks for the translation into Japanese. It looks swell (even though I can't read it, I've had it enabled for the last couple days because it looks cool).

Piedmontese is the language of my grandparents. It's for Piedmont, Italy what Cornish is to Cornwall. It was listed and I thought I'd give it a try, but my knowledge of the written language is poor.

Massimiliano, thanks for the link, and the snippet of your own history, very interesting. The translations don't have to be perfect first off, of course. I'm sure Habari use is about to take off in Piedmont, and we need to be ready :)
billyboylindien, merci!

Hi. Japanese Cherry Blossom is my theme. A friend of mine named David Cintron at loudestnoise.com just twittered that he had installed Habari... and lo and behold, as I went to the available themes Wiki, there was my theme ported to Habari. Very cool.
You're right, krisandapril.us, is no longer functioning. I dropped it a year and a half ago. I tumble now on tumblr. I basically do Facebook, so... here is my link on Facebook that you can put with the theme since the odds of me dropping FB are slim to none.
The entered the link on the "website" form on this comment, so just click and you'll find out it's legit. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

April, good to hear from you, and thanks for Japanese Cherry Blossom. I hope to release a new version of the Japanese Cherry Blossom theme for Habari soon, and I'll definitely include your new home as a link.
Any chance of you producing an original theme for Habari? :)

Hey, I would love to help translating it for PORTUGUESE. How can I help you guys?

And we'd love you to get involved. Go to Habari's Launchpad page (link in the entry) and register. As far as I know, you can start translating immediately. If you have any problems, send an email to the mailing list.

Hey! I will be working on swahili translation. what do you think?
May 28th, 2008 at 6:33pm
It's great to hear from you Sophie! (For everyone else, I know Sophie from a previous life.) I think there are three absolutely awesome things about your comment. First and foremost, having you involved in Habari would be just great, you've got an enormous amount to offer. Second, having a Swahili translation is right and fitting for Habari, not least because the name is taken from Swahili. And third, having involvement in the project from Africa is brilliant, and makes me incredibly happy.
So, I think very much of you working on the Swahili translation! Thank you!
